Pictures of Home....11.07.07

***********************
So here is the thing.....I keep dreaming about the Northwest...and I can't stop it, and then other nights I don't want to dream about it , so then I can't sleep. I think it is about being Homesick. I left Seattle, the Northwest on MLK day 2004, it seems so long ago. So if you all don't mind, I thought I would hang a little picture from Home....Thank you...

So do you all have places that haunt your dreams, that you dream about still ?

Having made a number of significant relocations I've learned that as I reminisce about particular places what I'm actually missing is an encapsulated version of a moment in time.

On the other hand, I love the Pacific NW (Portland in my case) but really miss the Atlantic coast and beaches. We will go back - not to the same place but a different new one.

Susan:::: you are probally right...it is more about memories and Time...that is a nice way of looking at it....I get homesick at odd times, but you are right that it is certain times of the year too...I also know that silly me, I get homesick for many of the places I have lived....I am at home whereever I am ( that is what my son says.)thanks...

do you suppose that someday you will be able to at least visit? i know what you mean about homesickness but mine is for past days- memories. home is where the heart is sounds a bit cliche but it is true. holidays especially take me back to certain times in my life and that is what i get homesick for- if that makes any sense.

I don't necessarily miss places so much, but not being able to just jump in the car and whip down the road to mom's whenever I feel like it sucks.

Ahhh, so here you are!

This time a yr, I miss Sausalito and the herring boats anchored outside our street on Bridgeway, smell of fish in the air, pelicans and gulls diving, the sound of nets being pulled up all night long.

There's more, but if I dwell too much, yep, I sure do miss the bay area! ; (

Yikes! I forget, only about 158,000 gallons of Oil spilled into the bay.

No herring this yr is my guess. ; (
