Friday Afternoon at the Cafe....

So the funny thing is that I have a list of Places I Need to Go To, and the list has now grown substantially thanks to YouTube, and the Internet. ( and it was already plenty long from Bali, to Nepal, to Burmah, to Thailand, to Scottish Moors, to Tasmania, to Madagascar and on and on.....) The photo above is so soothing, I love the shadows and the shade and the water, it is Rum Point in the Cayman Islands. Although I don't think you would need much Rum to be there, the serenity alone makes me drunk....

As soon as the temperatures fall below 40 I am craving warm white sands......

I am making a Blueberry Peach Cobbler , which I will post the receipe later....in the Comments...

So do you have a List ? What Places are on it.....

So here I am in my sub tropical hideaway, a couple of thousand Kms north of Tasmania waiting for balmy spring weather.
68f and torrential rain doesn't make for a great Saturday, particularly when the papers are all read before breakfast.
Not 40f I agree, but the only surfing to be had is down the gutters.

Well we have to have something to complain about I guess :(

yummm Carledge, sub-tropical sounds nice, even with rain.

Fantasy vacations: Madagascar, Coastal Chile, St Thomas or any of those antilles, high summer in Scotland, winters in southern France. You get the drift ... I'd follow the sun!

Not big on rum, Enigma, if it's cold outside, make mine a hot cinnamon tea laced with some kentucky bourbon or brandy. Oh & those little hot buttered scones w/ raspberry jam. Hey, I've got some mormon blackberry jam here, very good, homemade (not made in my home, but still).

I too am not big on rum..( but I don't think the Rum Bay was about Rum , but more about illegal rum smuggling..)

I love the places you chose- have been to none of them.,...but I would pack my bag tomorrow...and Hmm Cartledge- I think your spots seem fine - but you are having winter down there...I definently want to go to New Zealand....ahhh more to add to the List...

It's spring here now, and we've already had some 90+ days. The weather is more unsettled than usual. Maybe it's the election.
On the other hand we do have cricket, with the first test match against Sri Lanka underway.
Cricket suggests T shirts, barefeet and a cold beer.

Paris, Paris, Paris, Paris...

Did I mention Paris?

It's the center of the universe.

josie, josie, josie, even in winter? Is it really like that song, I Love Paris?

cartledge, don't forget your sunscreen.

enigma, glad that "Rum Bay" was about rum smuggling ... I was afraid it was more like "Rum, Sodomy and The Lash" (how Winston Churchill described the Navy).

dk, when you are burned to the consistency of a camel drivers saddle bags sun screen is redundant.
