Saturday Night Thoughts....6.14.08

************************************
"Tears are like rain , they loosen up our soil so we can grow in different directions" Virginia Casey

The Princess....Xena...she came with her name, she was being abandoned in the NW, and I offered to take her many years ago...she used to come to it, when I would call it...She was practically ferral when we got her...nasty....she would sit on the Beat Up RumRunner in the Alley, the one that I got my Ex- for his birthday, I bought it for a sixpack of beer...convinced that he and I could fix up this 1920's Old Wooden Boat....Xena loved it...she would sit on top of it....and growl and his at Everything and everyone that roamed the alley....then she would come around to the Front Porch where I had Tweety our little Budgie hanging on the Front porch Hook, next to the climbing roses and the Wysteria and the Clematis....Somehow Xena loved this little bird, and she would sleep under his hanging perch...and smile up at him....She has been with us all these years and many moves and car rides....and now she is old....Fragile.

And there are days she does not eat and none of us can go near her....
3 nights ago she practically bit my hand off, thinking it was Something Evil I am sure....even though I was sound asleep.
I am not sure of what happened...really....
Poor Thing...

I had to write this...she is breaking my ol'heart...My Princess.

It really is sad. You & she have been through so much together. I'm sure she feels terrible about biting you, if only she could tell you. I wonder if the inappetance & now uncharacteristic biting is indicative that she is in physical distress, in addition to possible old-age senility. Poor old thing, it is very hard to see them wasting away.

Year of the Cat ... maybe Xena is "strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre contemplating a crime" in her mind.

thanks DK...

she licked my hand last night...and it dawned on me that she felt bad for me- but had no idea that she did it.....poor thing....

it cooled off...and she seems like she feels a bit better.....

the heat made her feel awful....

... or even if she knew she was involved, she can't remember why or how & now she wonders what is wrong with your hand. Glad the weather cooled down. Heat does get to animals much worse than us sweating humans.

Had a cat like that left to me...didn't like that cat scratching me. It took more than its pound of flesh.

Walking Man....
Sorry about your cat...

I doubt my cat is like yours...it sounds like a different situation....
she is and has never bitten or scratched me in the past 9 years...that is how I knew Something was very wrong...and very sad....I wrote this because it never really dawned on me that cats get old, senile....and this cat has always been so smart...I hate to see her losing her grip....hate to see her lost in her own house, or confused by us humans...
