Ever fallen in love with a tree....this cypress has totally won my heart....It is noble, alone, strong....beautiful.....
In my tv room, I have a painting I did....and on the bottem of it I painted in Japanese Caligraphy...
"He who has Integrity is never alone "....
( I need to find the Japanese translation for you..)
anyways...this Tree on the California Coast always reminds me of that phrase....

Lovely music, I once heard it said, that trees have feelings and thoughts, that they know... one day, they will die.
Which is why they produce little trees.
I was just out watching the "Obama moon", how about you? I finally figured out WHY it is the Obama moon. It is a big large "O" up in the sky, shining down on us, lighting the way!
I think that is a Torrey Pine tree, also known as Monterey Pine? We had some of those twisty hardy survivors down along San Diego coast, too. They have to withstand a lot of bad conditions. But my favorite is still the Brislecone Pine (mostly in the Sierra Nevadas), another hardy survivor which can attain a lifespan of thousands of human years.
If I were going to Zen out again over a tree it would have to be a Sequoia. More wisdom in the centuries old wood.
