Saturday Night Music dedicated to John Lennon.....12.08.07
**********************************
Tonight is the anniversary of John Lennon being taken from us. I always think of Yoko Ono on this night, I think of what was taken from her, the love of her life. These chairs really spoke to me when I was trying to find a symbolic photo. That last summer they created Double Fantasy, the greatest Love Story Album ever.......

I admit Yoko had to grow on me. It took awhile, but then I understood. And it was obvious she & John were completely in love. Yoko lost her true mate, Sean & Julian lost their father, and the whole world lost a man who taught us that if we can imagine it, if we want it, it can happen.
Objectively John's murder was one of hundreds that year in NYC. Although I feel extremely close to his music both as a Beatle and a solo artist, I think there are hundreds of widows out there still grieving their murdered husbands that deserve as much thought and compassion as Yoko, Sean and Julian.
At least the killer of John Lennon was caught, too many languish as cold cases now because they didn't have his fame.
This is the to the loss of all of us for all that could have been from all that were taken from us that year, that night.
Peace

We all still have the blessing of being able to learn and follow in his footsteps, hear his thoughts & words & messages in song as well as the music itself. It stung to have such a creative entity and life snuffed out, a person who cared deeply about humanity, & the human condition.
Sometimes the lights of our souls burn so brightly, they cannot be put out or dimmed by death.
what a beautiful photograph, its my first time here at the Enigma Cafe, I too always think of Yoko. Their love was palpable. And it lives on, did you know that Yoko, did a cover song for CD called "wig in a box", to raise money for the Harvey Milk High School in NY ? John Cameron Mitchell who wrote and starred in Hedwig and the Angry Inch a flim about ..well its a fantastic funny film, seriously rent it if you haven't seen it - anyhow it has a soundtrack that was used to raise money through other artists doing covers of songs from it. And Yoko did one ! Not all that long ago. The CD raised thousands for the HS program in NYC that caters to gay youth. Now that is LOVE. LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED. and John and Yoko sure had that. The school is now called the Hetrick Martin Institute. It has full services for the lgbt youth. Good on Yoko eh ?
PP: ahhhh I love what you write about Yoko....so true...and lovely...and in a sad way very inspiring....maybe all of us want a love like that...I loved hearing about that program-that is wonderful...
Fran: what you said is soooo true....about a burning light....always...
Mark: I know what you say is so true...I guess what saddens me is that he was so loved, although hated by the government...( enemies lists etc)....but his messege and songs live on....
DK...I loved Yoko...always...even in the early days when you could not mention her...I wore that Double Fantasy album to bits....sigh....
