WE THE PEOPLE...
These people are OUR people..there are US....and yet we have over 5.1 Million Homeless in this country..OUR Country. this is just so wrong.....it is Our Greatest Shame....

Maybe the numbers are increased due to the recent bubbles that have burst. Such it is that the sorriest among us are the first to lose the little that was theirs.
There`s many things wrong with the UK, but here "homelessness" is against the law , however, the law applies to the local governments of each "county", and the homeless person is seen as the victim, not the transgressor.
The local authorities must provide shelter and decent accomodation to any homeless person within the boundaries of each district.
Paid for from taxation, this law has greatly helped the homeless.
For sure, there are still homeless peole, some do prefer to sleep in the open, but by and large we no longer have this painful blight on our communities.
However, this legislation is ongoing, and only in the last ten years or so, have we seen an improvement in the most degrading facets of the human condition.
One of things that brought about the change in law was that many homeless people would "squat" (occupy) empty properties, and thus be in conflict with the notion of property ownership!
